We looked at 40,000 delayed shipments across three GCC markets over six months. Before we pulled the data, our assumption was the same one most dispatchers make: delays come from bad routing — the wrong turn, the wrong sequence, traffic nobody accounted for.
The data told a different story. Routing accounted for roughly 12% of total delay minutes. The other 88% came from somewhere else entirely: the gap between when a shipment was marked “ready” and when a driver actually picked it up.
